OUR STORY

The roots of The Artisan Corner began more than twenty years ago, when I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in an Indigenous artisan community in the northern Andes of Ecuador. There, I worked with women and girls on leadership development initiatives and learned firsthand how creativity, courage, and collective effort can spark change. Together with the Warmis—“women” in Quichua—we even joined the first Indigenous women’s expedition to reach the summit of Volcano Cotopaxi, a climb that became a powerful metaphor for the strength and perseverance of women everywhere.

That experience planted the seed for what has grown into The Artisan Corner: a platform amplifying women’s artistry, voices, and leadership across Latin America. From handwoven textiles to vibrant jewelry, our collections showcase the beauty of tradition while creating pathways to economic opportunity.

The women we partner with are not only artisans—they are community leaders, breadwinners, teachers, and change-makers. Their work embodies values of resilience, collaboration, and empowerment that we call The Warmi Way: uplifting women, strengthening communities, and advancing equality.
